Ingredients

2 lb Asparagus spears
2 lb thin bacon strips
4 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter, optional

Preparation

* Bundle asparagus spears into 3 to 4 pieces, wrap bacon around the asparagus and secure with toothpicks.

* Preheat oil on frying pan on medium heat, place the asparagus wraps and drizzle with salt and pepper to taste. Cook until bacon are crisp.

* Arrange asparagus on a serving plate then pour a few drops of butter on every wrap before serving.

You can also cook the asparagus wraps using melted butter instead of oil. No need for butter drops when prepared this way.
