This delicious beef dish is perfect for meat lovers out there.
Meat like pork, beef, poultry, and liver is rich in iron needed for the formation of red blood cells and for the prevention of anemia.
1 pound beef tenderloin, cut thinly across the grain
2 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
1 small yellow onion, thinly sliced
2 yellow bell peppers, cut into wedges
1 red bell pepper, cut into wedges
1/4 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 stalk spring onion, chopped
• Heat vegetable oil in wok or large skillet over high heat. Add garlic and five-spice powder, stir-fry for 15 seconds. Add beef and stir-fry until browned, about 5 minutes. Add onions and cook for about 2 minutes. Then add peppers, stir-fry until peppers are crisp-tender, about 2 minutes.
• Combine remaining ingredients except the spring onion in a small bowl. Stir into wok. Cook and stir until liquid boils, thickens and nearly evaporates. Add in green onions and cook for another minutes. Serve hot and enjoy!
