Chicken is a crowd pleaser! The delightful taste and texture or the wings cooked in a flavorful oriental sauce. This dish is very versatile. Serve as an appetizer or a main dish.
1/4 cup cooking oil
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons grated ginger
1 kilogram chicken wings, cut at the joints and tips removed
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 1/2 tablespoons Chinese rice wine
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons raw honey
1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
3 tablespoons oyster sauce
2 tablespoons chopped green onions, for garnish
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
Heat oil in a skillet or wok. Sauté garlic and ginger, cook until fragrant. Add in sesame oil and chicken wings, Stir for 2 minutes. Pour rice wine, and salt. Mix well and cover wok, cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until chicken is tender.
Combine soy sauce, honey and oyster sauce in a bowl. Pour the mixture over the wings and mix well, cook for another 5 minutes.
Remove from heat, add green onions and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve while hot!
* On a spicy and sweeter note, adding chopped bird’s eye chilies and banana ketchup to the mixture can result in a completely different flavor profile.
