With this dish every bite brings happiness and joy to your family and friends. This dish is made of savory and delish sautéed meat and vegetables topped with golden brown crust mashed sweet potatoes for a healthy treat.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 small sized onion, chopped
1 cup lean ground beef
1 cup ground chicken
1/4 cup canned button mushrooms, thinly sliced
1/2 cup chopped carrots
1 red bell pepper, diced
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 paprika powder
1/4 garlic powder
1/2 cup tomato sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 tablespoons liquid seasoning
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons melted butter, for brushing top

Mashed Sweet Potato

3 large sweet potatoes, boiled, peeled, and mashed
2-3 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons grated cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste

Procedure

* In a hot casserole or pan. Put vegetable oil and sauté onions until transparent. Add in ground beef and ground chicken. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes. Add mushrooms, carrots, bell pepper, and season with nutmeg, paprika, and garlic. Pour in tomato sauce, tomato paste, liquid seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and ground black pepper, if desired. Cook and stir for another 5 minutes. Set aside.

* Preheat oven to 190C.

* To make mashed sweets potatoes: in a separate pan, melt butter, place in mashed sweet potatoes and grated cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Mix and blend well.

* Place meat in an ovenable dish and cover with the mashed potatoes. Brush top with melted butter and place in the oven; bake for about 15-20 minutes or until top turns golden brown.

Serve hot and with your favorite salad as side a dish.
