This tofu recipe has a great flavor and texture. Deep-fried silken tofu with garlic, ginger and chilies. Serve as an appetizer or additional dish to your main course.
2 blocks silken tofu, sliced into cubes
Cooking oil, for frying
3-4 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 1/2 tablespoons chopped green onion
1 1/2 tablespoons minced ginger
2-3 bird’s eye chilies, sliced
Salt and pepper, to season
* In a small bowl combine garlic, green onion, ginger, and chilies. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
* Heat cooking oil in a skillet or wok. Dredge tofu with flour and deep fry in the wok for 2 minutes. Add in garlic and ginger mixture. Stir well until the aroma comes out. Remove and strain excess oil.
* Transfer on a platter. Serve with soy sauce or fish sauce and vinegar as a dipping sauce, if desired.
