This French desert will satisfy your sweet cravings. With a hint of rum that goes well with the caramelized bananas. It is also very simple and fast to make.
– 1 teaspoon butter
– 6 bananas, cut in half lengthwise
– 4 tablespoons brown or demarara sugar
– juice of 1 lemon
– 3 tablespoons water
– 4 to 6 ounces rum
– whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
1.) Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter a shallow ovenproof dish. Arrange bananas overlapping in the dish. Sprinkle sugar over the bananas. Add the lemon juice and water. Bake in oven for 20 minutes. Add rum just before finishing.
2.) Arrange bananas in a plate and serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Drizzle some syrup on top.
You can also use other fruits like pears, peaches, or apple.
