This tasty chicken recipe is a sure winner for your table. Chicken cordon bleu or schnitzel cordon bleu originated in France. It is made with meat wrapped with ham, and cheese. Deep-fried to perfection. You can also bake it to minimize oil consumption.

Ingredients

3 pieces chicken breast fillet, pounded
4 tablespoons liver spread
3 slices sweet ham
1/2 cup cheddar cheese or quick-melt, cut into sticks
1 egg, beaten
1 cup bread crumbs
vegetable oil, for frying
salt and pepper, to season

Procedure

* Season chicken fillet with salt and pepper. Spread out evenly the liver spread to the fillet. Place ham and cheese on top. Roll and secure with toothpicks. Dip in beaten egg and roll in bread crumbs. Fry in a pan with oil, over medium high heat. Remove from heat and place on a plate with paper towel to drain excess oil.

* Serve with blanched asparagus or your favorite side salads. You can also substitute ham with slices of salmon for a healthy opt.
