Crab Curry

This succulent crab dish will surely tickle your taste palette because of it’s aroma and delish taste.

Crab is an excellent addition to most diets, being low in fat and calories, but high in protein and nutrients. Crab can be prepared in many different ways which makes it easy to include in regular meals.


6 big crabs
1 tablespoon tamarind pulp or paste
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 big onion, roughly chopped
8 cloves garlic
2 cups coconut milk
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1/4 turmeric powder
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
parsley for garnishing


• Clean the crab and set aside.

• Heat oil in a wok on medium heat and cook onion for one minute. Add garlic and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add tamarind pulp, garam masala, turmeric and cumin seeds. Mix well by stirring continuously for 30 seconds. Add in the coconut milk and water. Bring to a boil. Add the crabs and cover the wok, lower the heat and simmer for about 15-20 minutes. Transfer onto a serving dish and garnish with parsley. Serve hot and enjoy!
