How to make a Traditional Thai Dipping Sauce

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup white vinegar
2 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped
2 tablespoons fish sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons chili paste (sambal oelek)
1/4 cup carrot, shredded


*Combine sugar water and vinegar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes.

Reduce heat. Stir in garlic, fish sauce and chili sauce. Simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Add shredded carrot.

Tip: Can adjust the amount of vinegar, sugar or chili according to your taste.
