Mongolian Beef

Must Try


1 lb steak (sirloin or flank), sliced thinly
1/3 cup water or beef broth
1/4 cup sliced spring onions
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 clove garlic, grated
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon ginger, grated
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon chili sauce or paste
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
3 tablespoons soy sauce


• Heat the oil in a pan over medium-high heat, add the beef and cook for about 2-4 minutes.
• Add beef broth, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, chili sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and cornstarch mixture to the pan and cook until it thickens a bit, about a minute.
• Remove from heat, mix in the sesame oil and serve over white rice, noodles or quinoa. Garnish with the green onions.
