Prepare a festive dish that won’t strain your budget. With these crab recipe, spend less time in the kitchen and more time with your loved ones. Fried crabs in a sweet and spicy saucy goodness.


1/2 kilogram (approx. 3pcs) medium crabs
salt and freshly ground pepper, to season
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup vegetable oil
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, peeled and sliced thinly
1 small green bell pepper, chopped
2 tablespoons salted black beans, mashed in 2 tablespoons water
1 cup tomato sauce
3 tablespoons sweet and chili sauce
3/4 cup water


* Season crabs with salt and freshly ground pepper. Dredge in cornstarch. Fry in 1/2 cup oil until cooked. Halve crabs and set aside.

* In another pan, sauté garlic and ginger using 2 tablespoon of used oil. Add green bell pepper, black beans, tomato sauce, sweet and chili sauce, and water. Let it simmer, covered for 5 minutes over low heat.

* Add crabs and simmer once.

* Transfer on a serving platter and serve with steamed white rice or vegetables.
