Ingredients:
6 pcs chicken wings, tips cut off, cut in joints
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
enough cooking oil for deep frying
For the sauce:
1/4 cup sweet soy sauce
2 tbsps soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsps sesame seeds, lightly toasted
extra sesame seeds for sprinkling
For the chicken coating:
1/2 cup cornstarch
2 cups panko breadcrumbs
2 eggs, lightly beaten
Directions:
*Season chicken with salt and pepper. Set aside.
*Place cornstarch and flour on separate plates.Coat chicken pieces with cornstarch and dip in egg, and then coat with breadcrumbs.
*Heat oil in a deep frying pan and fry chicken wings in batches until golden brown. Drain op paper towels.
*To make the sauce, combine sweet soy sauce, soy sauce, water, sesame oil, sesame seeds and cornstarch in a saucepan Mix well. Bring to a boil and simmer until sauce thickens.
*Place the sauce in a mixing bowl and add the chicken, toss well until well coated. Transfer to onto a serving plate and sprinkle with extra sesame seeds. Enjoy!
Serves 2-3 persons.
Tip: Serve with steamed rice and stir fried vegetables.
